Infrared Sauna
What is an Infrared Sauna?
An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses infrared light to heat the body directly, rather than heating the air around you like traditional saunas. This technology allows for lower ambient temperatures, typically between 120°F and 150°F (49°C to 66°C), making it more comfortable for some users. Traditional saunas heat the air around you (steam or dry heat), often at higher temperatures (around 150°F to 195°F or 65°C to 90°C). Infrared saunas operate at lower temperatures but are believed to penetrate deeper into tissues.
Traditional saunas raise the temperature of the air to a very high level within the chamber to warm the body. Some people have difficulty breathing in this extremely warm air. Infrared saunas work differently. Instead of heating the air within the enclosure, infrared saunas heat the body directly. The result is deeper tissue penetration. In an infrared sauna, the body perspires and receives all of the healthy benefits but avoids the harmful and extremely hot air of a traditional steam sauna.

Why Try Our Clearlight Infrared Sauna?
Infrared saunas are popular for their potential health benefits and relaxing experience. As far infrared comes from the sun it penetrates deeply into the skin to help dissolve unwanted substances that have accumulated in the body.
The infrared rays have the power to revitalize your cells and metabolism. Far infrared waves penetrate into our body and activate the sweat glands. The sweat glands are one of the tools that the body has at hand to eliminate toxins. The skin is actually the largest organ of the human body and has been called many times; “the third kidney” because of its ability to discharge large amounts of waste material through the sweat glands. It is one of the best mechanisms the body has for elimination.
The temperature inside an infrared sauna is adjustable and averages a comfortable 100°F to 130 °F. These lower temperatures allow you to sweat faster and to tolerate a longer sauna session offering greater therapeutic benefit.
Typical sessions last 20 to 45 minutes and can be repeated once or twice during the day to maximize the benefits. Infrared saunas leave you feeling invigorated, not depleted like conventional saunas.
Clearlight Infrared Saunas are thoughtfully designed to promote physical and emotional well-being for people with various health conditions.
Health Benefits Include:
Daily sweating from sauna use can help detoxify your body as it rids itself of accumulated toxic heavy metals. At low temperature, infrared will penetrate the body’s fat cells to expel what has built-up over time.
A few minutes in the gentle warmth of an infrared sauna will help you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to take on the day.
Infrared heat can help relieve inflammation, stiffness, and soreness by increasing blood circulation to your muscles. It is also effective in the treatment of sprains, neuralgia, bursitis, muscle spasms, and many other muscular-skeletal ailments.
The Journal of the American Medical Association has mentioned that regular use of a sauna can have a similar boost on the cardiovascular system to running. When your body takes in infrared heat, it works hard to try and cool down by producing sweat and burning calories. A 30-minute session can burn somewhere between 250 calories or more.
The deep sweating achieved after a few minutes in an infrared sauna helps increase circulation and remove impurities and dead skin cells, leaving your skin glowing and clean.
Since the infrared heat of a Clearlight® Infrared Sauna penetrates three times as deep as a conventional sauna, it is significantly more effective at reducing cellulite by lowering the storage of toxins in fat cells.
The Department of Family Practice at the University of British Columbia, found that infrared sauna therapy can help keep blood pressure normal, lower cholesterol levels, reduce chronic pain, and treat issues such as congestive heart failure.*

The penetrating infrared wavelengths from the True WaveTM Far Infrared and Full spectrum heaters by Clearlight will raise your core body temperature, inducing an artificial fever. Fever is the body’s natural mechanism to strengthen and accelerate the immune response, as seen in the case of infection.
Much has been written about how infrared sauna therapy can aid and support those managing diabetes because it offers healing activities to help lower side effects. Working simultaneously, these activities include:
- Improved pain threshold
- Elimination of toxins
- Improved circulation
- Internal organ cleanse
